The story
My name is Camila Gomez, and I am a Life Scout working toward the rank of Eagle Scout—the highest achievement in Scouting.
Hospice patients and their loved ones often face incredibly difficult and emotional moments. While medical care is essential, small, thoughtful items can provide warmth and comfort during this time.
Through this project, I am organizing volunteers to assemble care kits designed specifically for hospice patients. These kits will be distributed through hospice staff and chaplains to support patients and families when they need it most.
Every donation goes directly toward materials and supplies to make these kits possible.

Why it matters
Small acts of care can make a meaningful difference on someone’s hardest day. Hospice care focuses on comfort, compassion, and dignity. These kits help ensure that caregivers always have essential items available to support patients physically and emotionally. This project is about more than supplies—it’s about showing that our community cares.
What goes in each kit
Each care kit is thoughtfully assembled with items that provide comfort and support:
- Soft blanket — warmth and comfort
- Warm socks or slippers — physical comfort
- Lip balm — relief and care
- Moisturizing lotion — comfort and dignity
- Tissues — practical support
Each item is selected with sensitivity to the needs of hospice patients.
The goal
We are working to assemble:
- 🎯 200 care kits
- 💵 $3,800 total goal
- 📦 $18 per kit
Every $18 donated directly funds one complete kit.
If we exceed our goal, additional funds will allow us to:
- Create more kits
- Include additional comfort items
- Support more patients in our community
